Cities and Counties Removing Taisugar Pork

Several cities and counties have ordered some frozen pork products supplied by Taiwan Sugar to be removed from store shelves (下架) after pork from the same batch of products was found to contain a banned leanness-enhancing additive (瘦肉精添加物).
The moves come after the Taichung Health Bureau last Friday announced that it had found traces of cimbuterol (西布特羅) in frozen "Pork Boston Butt, Sliced (梅花肉片)" supplied by Tai-Sugar.
The bureau then ordered the product to be removed from store shelves in Taichung.
Food safety officials in Taipei, Taoyuan, Kaohsiung, Keelung and Miaoli have also now preemptively (先發制人) ordered stores to remove the offending pork products from sale.
Davis Cup Journey Ended by France

Taiwan's Davis Cup (台維斯盃網球賽) dream has ended after losing 3-6, 6-2, 7-6 to France in a men's doubles match in Taipei.
Hsu Yu-xiu (許育修) and Wu Dong-lin lost their respective singles (單人賽) matches on Saturday.
And Sunday's doubles lose by Hsu Yu-xiu and his partner Jason Chuang means Taiwan will not be playing in the Davis Cup Finals.
However, despite the loss to France, it's still the furthest Taiwan has ever advanced in the Davis Cup.
The match wrapped-up (結束) the Taipei stop of the four-day Davis Cup Finals qualifiers.

The European Union is voicing concerns about reports that the Israeli military intends to take its battle against Hamas to the town of Rafah at Gaza's border (邊界) with Egypt.

Salvadorans are voting in presidential and legislative elections that are largely about the tradeoff (交換條件) between security and democracy.
With soaring (快速上升的) approval ratings and virtually no competition, Nayib Bukele is almost certainly headed for a second term as president in voting.
Despite El Salvador's constitution prohibiting (禁止) reelection (連任), about eight in 10 voters support Bukele, according to a January poll from the University of Central America.
Bukele is said to have taken steps throughout his first term that lawyers and critics say chip away (削弱了) at the country's system of checks and balances (監督平衡).

And finally,
A major work by surrealist (超現實) painter Rene Magritte that hasn't been shown in public for a quarter century could fetch (賣價) 64-million U-S dollars at auction next month.
Christie's auction house says it will offer "The Intimate Friend" at a March 7 sale in London.
The auction marks a century of the surrealist movement.
Christie's says the painting is among the handful of most important Magritte works in private hands.
It depicts a rear view of a bowler-hatted man (戴高筒帽的男子), with a baguette (法國麵包) and a wine glass hovering in the foreground (前景).
It was last auctioned in 1980.
