The Ministry of Foreign Affairs says Honduras's outgoing president, Juan
Orlando Hernandez is planning to visit Taiwan.
The visit will come as both countries mark the 80th anniversary of diplomatic
ties this year.

The foreign ministry is refusing to disclose (透露) further details of
Hernandez's upcoming trip.
However, D-P-P lawmaker Wang Ding-yu has been telling reporters that
Hernandez will arrive in Taiwan this evening.
Honduras will hold a presidential election on November 28 and opposition
presidential candidate, Xiomaro Castro has vowed to sever ties with Taiwan in
favor of Beijing if she wins the ballot.

2. Navy Holds Ceremony to Mark Progress in Indigenous Submarine Program

The Navy on Tuesday held a "keel laying" ceremony for an indigenously built
submarine prototype.
It came a year after work began to signal the completion of the vessel's
first construction phase.

The ceremony was presided over (主持) by Navy Commander Admiral Liu Chih-pin
and Cheng Wen-lon, chairman of Taiwan shipbuilder CSBC.
The government has allocated NT$49 billion over seven years to build an
indigenous submarine, with the goal of boosting Taiwan's defense capabilities
amid China's growing military prowess.
The prototype is scheduled to be completed in 2024 and delivered to the Navy
in 2025.
