She was responding to comments from Terry Gou, who wants to be the KMT's presidential candidate. Gou recently told reporters that he believes "there is an R-O-C and a People's Republic of China under one Chinese nation." Tsai says the existence of Taiwan as the ROC is an "undeniable (不可否認) fact". She says she would like to know what Beijing has to say about Gou's comments. ---- E*Government to Step-Up Anti-ASF Border Inspections The government will increase border inspections against African Swine Fever. Agriculture Minister Chen Ji-chong says almost 8-percent of pork products illegally brought into Taiwan from overseas in April tested positive for ASF. That positive rate is expected to rise to 15-percent this month. Chen says the high rate is a result of Beijing failing to stop the virus from spreading through (傳播、感染) China's food industry. The Central Epidemic Command Center says 1,463 pork products were tested for A-S-F between August of last year and May 11. They say out of those, 55 from China and two from Vietnam contained (含有) the ASF virus. ---- E*Whatsapp Announces Cybersecurity Breach WhatsApp says it has been attacked by hackers. The epicenter was about 10 km deep. There were several large aftershocks. But officials expect little or no damage or injuries, because very few people live in the area. The U.S. Pacific Tsunami Warning Center said tsunami waves up to 1 meter high were possible along (沿) coastal areas up to 1-thousand kilometers from the epicenter. That area includes Papua New Guinea and the nearby Solomon Islands. ---- E*Mexico City Declares Pollution Emergency Mexico City declared a pollution emergency due to (由於) smoke from brushfires. Air pollution levels were over one-and-a-half times the acceptable amounts. City officials halted street sweeping and moving construction materials.
