City Councilor Wang Hao quotes data to say that between 2015 and 2018, a total of 1-thousand 562 people sustained injuries at various Taipei MRT stations, with Taipei Metro paying out compensations totaling 28 million NT. Of all those stations, Taipei Main Station saw the biggest number of injuries, at 128, followed by Zhong-xiao Fu-xing's 63 and Xi-men's 54. during the 4-year period. Taipei Metro says most of those incidents happened when passengers fell. But in 160 of the cases, passengers fell because they were pushed by someone else. The company also says that the one place that's most accident-prone (最容易發生意外) is the escalators, so it has reduced the escalators' speed and sent out security personnel to guide passengers during rush hours.
