It did not say an interest rate cut could happen this year. ---- E*Soong Quits as Presidential Adviser People First Party Chairman James Soong has quit his job as presidential advisor. Soong says he had some disagreements with the Presidential Office. Soong was quoted by China's Xinhua News Agency earlier this week as saying that he agrees with the"one country, two systems" formula "as a solution to the Taiwan issue (問題、議題)." The PFP chairman says the report is not true. He says he never mentioned (提到) the term "one country, two systems" in any interviews during his visit to China earlier this month. And Soong says his party still believes that "democratic negotiation" is the only base for cross-strait communications. ---- E*Taiwan Ranked 3rd for Hospitality in Self-Evaluated Global Poll Around 77-percent of Taiwan travelers think their own country is more welcoming to visitors than other nations. That makes Taiwan in third place on the rankings (排行) from a travel website, Booking.com The survey asked 21-thousand-500 travelers from 29 countries to compare their holiday experiences at home and abroad (國外、海外). The top four countries for hospitality, according to their own citizens, where Thailand, Indonesia, Taiwan and Mexico. ---- E*Malaysia Releases Vietnamese Kim Suspect Officails say the Vietnamese woman suspected of killing North Korean leader Kim Jong Un's half brother has been released. Doan Thi Huong's lawyers says she will be taken to the immigration office before flying back to Hanoi later today. Huong pleaded guilty to causing injury after prosecutors dropped (放下) the murder charge against her. She was sentenced (判刑) to 40 months in prison. The other suspect in the case, Indonesian Siti Aisyah, was released in March. Prosecutors unexpectedly (突然) dropped the murder charge against her. The two women were accused of killing Kim Jong Nam at a Kuala Lumpur airport in February 2017. ---- E*US Military Spike in Sexual Assault The United States military is reporting a rise in sexual assaults (攻擊). US Correspondent Rachel Silverman has more. < [CLIP] Slug: > ---- E*France Detains May Day Protest Group Paris police questioned 32 people about protestors that tried to force their way into a hospital. The suspects were later let go. The incident happened during an annual International Worker's Day march organized by labor unions. Dozens of people climbed the fence around the hospital and tried to storm (強攻、攻陷) an emergency exit in a post-surgery ward Wednesday afternoon. Doctors and nurses kept the door closed before police arrived, but computer equipment was damaged. French Interior Minister Christophe Castaner says the incident (事件) was an ``attack.''
