Since October 2016, the suspects offered people a three percent monthly return for every $10-thousand US dollars invested. They reportedly got more than 100 investors, and $100-million NT in investments. AP correspondent Warren Levinson reports. < [CLIP] Slug: > ---- T*Taiwan researchers construct endemic orchid genetic linkage map Researchers from Academia Sinica have made a genetic linkage map for a species of orchid that's native to Taiwan. The Agricultural Biotechnology Center say they've made the high-quality chromosome-scale map of the Phalaenopsis aphrodite genome (基因組). Experts say the moth orchid has a large flower and attractive stalk shape, which makes it a good species for making commercial (貿易的、販售的) orchid hybrids. The map will help growers make "high-end designer orchids". (NS) ---- Nigeria tanker truck fire Nine people are dead after a truck carrying oil crashed and started a fire on a bridge in Lagos. Officials say 4 people were hurt, and 54 vehicles were burned. It's not clear what caused the crash. ---- Thailand cave search From northern Thailand... Rescuers are still trying to find 12 boys and their soccer coach in a flooded cave. Emergency workers made a hole in the side of a mountain, but still could not get into the cave, where the boys have been trapped for five days. The cave is expected to be flooded (淹沒) for months. More than 600 people are reporteldy combing the mountain for possible cracks to get into the caverns.
