Section break ---- News Intro I'm ... w/ the top of the hour news ..... ---- T*Flooding in the south Four townships in southern Taiwan were flooded earlier today. Officials say water is about knee-deep on the streets of Jia-dong, Lin-bian, Fang-liao and Dong-gang, all in low areas along the shoreline (海岸線). The number 17 provincial road is also partically flooded. Traffic restrictions are in place there, and also on several other roads. Data shows that over the past 36 hours, many places in Ping-dong got around 400-mm of rain, and more is still on the way. The Central Weather Bureau says the tropical low-pressure system that is causing the rain has already landed in Heng-chun Peninsula. It is moving in a northwesterly direction. Kaohsiung and Tainan are also getting a lot of rain. Tai-nan officials say half of its 40 districts have already seen more than 100 millimeters of rainfall so far today. The CWB has put out a super torrential rain warning for Ping-dong, and a torrential rain warning is still in effect for Tai-nan, Gao-xiong, Tai-dong and Yi-lan. (JL) ---- T*Three Taiwanese fraud suspects arrested in Manila Three Taiwanese nationals have been arrested in Manila for telecom fraud. Police arrested them with 16 Thai nationals. The operation involved police from Taiwan, Thailand, and the Philippines. The arrests happened in Manila, were the telecom fraud ring was based. ---- NY sues Trump foundation The New York Attorney General is suing the Donald J. Trump Foundation and its board of directors for decades of alleged illegal activity. Former Foreign Minister Delcy Rodriguez, has been serving as head of the constitutional assembly. She replaces Tareck El Aissami, who will become the government's top economic policy maker. Rodriguez will be the second woman to hold the country's vice presidency. ---- Poland LGBT ruling Poland's Supreme Court ruled against a print shop employee who refused to print banners for an LGBT business group.
