Section break ---- News Intro I'm ... w/ the top of the hour news ..... ---- T*Taiex update The Tai-Ex opened up 8-points this morning from yesterday's close, at 11,153 on turnover of 2.8-billion N-T. ---- T*No 2 reactor back online Taipower says the No. 2 reactor at the Second Nuclear Power Plant is now back online. The reactor at the plant in New Taipei's Wanli District restarted overnight. Taipower says parts of the reactor was too hot, and it was taken offline at around 8PM for maintenance. Before being taken offline, the reactor was working at 60-percent of capacity (容量). It was generating 580,000-kilowatts of electricity earlier in the day. ---- T*Hotel operators call for illegal listing crackdown Hotels want the government to take action against illegal short-term rentals listed online. Hotel operators (運營商) say they're losing around $30-billion N-T in revenue (收入) to the owners of illegally rented out apartments. The Taipei Hotel Association says the illegal rentals do not pay taxes, and do not follow laws, which means they are not safe. The Tourism Bureau say sit will ask online rental websites to remove illegal listings and increase fines for owners of those illegal properties. ---- T*Ketamine bust in Chiayi And .... Police have seized 28-kilograms of ketamine and arrested a suspected drug trafficker in Chiayi. Officials say the suspect was supplying (供應) drugs to dealers. Police say the suspect was working with a drug trafficking ring based in Chiayi and Changhua counties. ---- Trump Kim summit saga US President Donald Trump is thanking North Korean leader Kim Jong Un. He says Kim took steps toward a "bright new future for his people". The two met yesterday and Trump says they've signed an agreement to denuclearize (無核化) the Korean Peninsula. But there have been no details on the deal. ---- US physicians gun control From the US.... The country's largest physicians group is taking a stronger stand on gun violence. AP correspondent Mike Gracia reports. < [CLIP] Slug: > ---- ICC ex Congo VP release The International Criminal Court has ordered the former Congolese Vice President to be released. Jean-Pierre Bemba was acquitted of war crimes and crimes against humanity (人道). But judges say Bemba will not be allowed to make public statements about his case, or contact witnesses.
