Section break ---- News Intro I'm ... w/ the top of the hour news ..... ---- T*Taiex update The Tai-Ex opened up 34-points this morning from Friday's close, at 10,976 on turnover of 3.1-billion N-T. ---- T*Haiti's president visiting Taiwan Haiti's President Jovenel Moise is in Taiwan today for a 5-day state visit. It's his first visit to Taiwan since becomign president in early 2017. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs says President Tsai Ing-wen is welcoming Moise and his 30-member group with a military ceremony in front of the Presidentail Office. Tsai and Moise will sign an agreement and Tsai will host a banquet for Moise, his wife, and the Haitian delegation (代表團) this evening. ---- T*Man detained after Taipei stabbing Police are holding a suspect after a stabbing at a Taipei nightclub. A 29-year old was hospitalized with stab wounds to his abdomen (腹部). The victim was stabbed twice after an argument at the nightclub on Songshou Rd. Police say they managed to track down the suspect after looking at security videos. The suspect faces charges of attempted murder. ---- T*Taipei preps for Wan An drills And .... The Taipei City government is reminding the public that the Wan An air raid drill is taking place Monday June 4th. The drill will be held between 1:30 and 2pm in Taipei, and also in other cities and counties in northern Taiwan. All cars must pull over and stop at the side of the road, and pedestrians (行人) must get off the streets for the 30-minute drill. Fines for not following the rules during the exercises are between $30-thousand to $150-thousand NT. ---- Congo Ebola death Congo's health ministry says another person has died of Ebola. AP correspondent Julie Walker reports. < [CLIP] Slug: > ---- France Libya conference France will host a U-N-sponsored conference on Libya tomorrow. President Emmanuel Macron's office says the conference will bring together leaders in Libya and representatives from other countries and international organizations. They say Libya's leaders are expected to sign an agreement calling for presidential and parliamentary elections, ``if possible'' by the end of the year. ---- Colombia presidential election The winner of the first round of the presidential vote in Colombia says he will deliver (交) faster economic growth. Former Senator Ivan Duque won 39 percent of the more than 19 million votes cast in Sunday's vote. But he is short of the 50 percent needed to avoid a runoff.
