The Supreme Court has rejected an appeal by former Taipei City Councilor Lai
Su-ru and upheld a 7.5-year sentence for corruption.
Along with the prison sentence, the court has also suspended Lai's civil
rights for four years.

The Ministry of Transport has fined EVA Airways 1-million N-T for failing to ensure its employees followed government coronavirus prevention measures.
According to the ministry, the EVA Air failed to require its employees fully adhere to coronavirus prevention measures and also didn't properly monitor (監視，密切注視) them.

The fine comes after an EVA Air pilot spread the disease to two of his co-pilots and also infected a Taiwanese friend, who, earlier this week, was confirmed as the first locally-transmitted coronavirus case since April 12.
The New Zealand pilot has been fired by EVA Air and also fined 300-thousand NT by the government for impeding an epidemic control investigation.
The government is now drafting tougher regulations governing airline company employees.
