I'm ______ and it's time for Easy EZ News on ICRT. ---- T*Taiex update The Tai-Ex appears to be recouping losses from earlier this week - and opened up 143-points this morning from yesterday's close, at 10,547 on turnover of 4.2-billion N-T. ---- T*Hualien rescue continues after quake Emergency workers are still searching for and rescuing people in Hualien after last night's magnitude-6.4 earthquake. Two people are confirmed dead. 219 are injured, with 27 people in critical condition. Reports also say 177 people are still missing. It is not known if they are trapped in collapsed buildings or out of contact with family members. President Tsai Ing-wen is now Hualien, where she is meeting with rescue officials. She praised emergency services and the military for their work. Tsai also says she hopes people can get back to their normal lives as soon as possible. She has instructed officials to check roads, bridges, railways, power plants, and other infrastructure (基礎設施) as soon as possible. About 35,000 households currently do not have water service, and 200 households do not have power. ---- US gov impending shutdown The U.S. Congress must agree on a fresh spending plan, with just days to go. Our U.S. correspondent Priscilla Huff reports: < [CLIP] Slug: > ---- Poland outlaws Holocaust blame Poland's president approved laws that makes it illegal to blame Poland for Holocaust crimes committed by Nazi Germany. But President Andrzej Duda says he will ask the country's constitutional court to look over the bill. Right now, the law says people could go to jail for up to three years for falsely blaming Nazi Germany crimes on Poland. Poland says it is trying to protect the country's reputation, and the laws are similar to other anti-defamation (反誹謗) laws in other countries. ---- Egypt dinosaur discovery A dinosaur skeleton has been found in Egypt's Western Desert. Researchers say it is a new species of long-necked herbivore, about the size of a city bus. The "Mansourasaurus Shahinae" is the only dinosaur found in Africa, from the period about 30 million years before dinosaurs went extinct.
