I'm ______ and it's time for Easy EZ News on ICRT. ---- T*Taiex update The Tai-Ex opened up 10.5 points this morning from yesterday's close at 10,404 on turnover of $2.89 billion NT. ---- T*MAC lodges HK gov protest The Mainland Affairs Council has sent a protest to the Hong Kong government. General Association of Chinese Culture deputy secretary general Chang Tie-zhi was not allowed to enter Hong Kong. He was invited to speak at a cultural exchange four-city forum for officials from Hong Kong, Shanghai, Shenzhen, and Taipei. Chang says he was denied entry at the airport, even though he had been told he could apply for a visa after he arrived at the Hong Kong airport. The MAC wants the Hong Kong government to "tolerate"civilian exchanges between Taiwan and China, so people in Taiwan do not have a bad impression of Hong Kong. ---- T*Transport Minister on FAT operations Transport Minister Ho Chen Dan says Far Eastern Air Transport will keep operating. The Civil Aeronatutics Administration said it had concerns about how old F-A-T's aircraft was. Ho Chen says F-A-T added a new plane to its fleet last month, and has taken action to improve flight safety standards. ---- T*IT Month underway in Taipei And finally .... I-T Month is underway in Taipei with a six-day fair at the the World Trade Center's Exhibition Hall Number One. Organizers say the highlights of this year's show include facial recognition applications and video games. About 250 companies are displaying their newest products at the show. And organizers say they expect to attract some 900,000 visitors over the course of the six-day trade fair. ---- Mideast anger to Trump Jerusalem recognition Muslims across the Middle East warned of disastrous consequences after U-S President Donald Trump recognized Jerusalem as Israel's capital. Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas said Trump has destroyed America's credibility as a Mideast peace broker. Egypt denounced Trump's decision, describing it as a violation of international resolutions on the city's status. Jordan's King Abdullah the-second says he had expressed his concerns to Trump in a phone call. Meanwhile... Member countries on the United Nations Security Council are calling for an urgent meeting on the issue by the end of the week. ---- US Cali wildfires close to LA Wildfires burning through Southern California are now dangerously close to the city of Los Angeles. There have already been widespread evacuations in the surrounding areas, with several different fires currently burning. Firefighters are struggling to contain the fires which are likely to be made worse by strong winds.
