I'm ______ and it's time for Easy EZ News on ICRT. ---- T*Tai-Ex opening The Tai-Ex opened up 9-points this morning from yesterday's close, at 10, 797 on turnover of 2.1-billion N-T. ---- T*Tsai "cautiously optimistic" about Trump-Xi meeting President Tsai Ing-wen says she is "cautiously optimistic (樂觀)" about an upcoming meeting between two world leaders. U-S President Donald Trump and China's President Xi Jin-ping will meet when Trump travels to China, and President Tsai says she hopes it will help bring more peace and stability in the Asia Pacific. Tsai says Taiwan will keep a close eye on the visit. President Tsai is going to Guam today after a final stop of her visit to three of Taiwan's diplomatic allies in the Pacific. ---- T*Apple iPhone X Many people lined up to buy the iPhone X, which went on sale here in Taiwan this morning. The first customer entered the store just after 9 o'clock. But sellers say many customers won't get the phones right away, because only 50,000 are available in Taiwan right now. During the last few times new iPhones went on sale, Taiwan received between 150-thousand to 200-thousand. The new iPhone X comes in two versions. The 256-gigabyte version is the most expensive iPhone ever, costing over $40,000 NT. ---- US tax plan meets resistance In the U-S.... The tax cut plan proposed by the Republican Congressional leadership has already hit resistance (抵抗) from their own party members. Our U.S. correspondent Priscilla Huff reports: < [CLIP] Slug: > ---- Venezuela to restructure debt Venezuela's president says his country will soon start restructuring its debt. President Nicolas Maduro says the government-run oil company P-D-V-S-A will make a $1.1 billion U-S dollar payment to bondholders as scheduled today. But after that, he says the country will start trying to refinance and restructure its foreign debt. Maduro say Venezuela's economy is suffering because of low oil prices and financial sanctions imposed (施) by the U-S. ---- Egypt great pyramid and finally.... Scientists say they have found a hidden room in Egypt's Great Pyramid of Giza. They say the 30-meter area deep in the pyramid is just above its Grand Gallery. It's unclear if the room has a purpose, or is just a gap in the architecture. But experts say it's unlikely that there's treasure or burial chambers (墓室) in the space.
