I'm ______ and it's time for Easy EZ News on ICRT. ---- T*Taiex update The Tai-Ex opened up 27-points this morning from yesterday's close, at 10,668 on turnover of 2.6-billion N-T. ---- T*Beijing appoints TAO deputy head Beijing has chosen its former United Nations ambassador to be the deputy (副) head of its Taiwan Affairs Office. The move comes before a Communist Party Congress, which starts next week. Liu Jie-yi was China's ambassador to the UN from August 2013 until last month. Zhang Zhi-jun is still the head of the Taiwan Affairs Office. He's been in that position since 2013. The party congress happens once every five years. Many people will take up new jobs between now and the annual (週年) meeting of parliament in March. ---- T*Taiwan girl dies on Emirates Air flight German media reports that a seven year old girl from Taiwan died on an Emirates Air flight. German tabloid newspaper "The Bild" reports that the girl got a high fever and fainted on the flight form Dubai to Munich. Crew members and a doctor tried to help the girl. The flight made an emergency landing in Kuwait. But the girl did not survive. She was reportedly (據說) traveling with her family. ---- T*Taiwan exports September surge And .... Taiwan exports surged (掀起、波動) in September. Exports jumped 28.1 percent from a year earlier to hit 28.9-billion U-S dollars. The finance ministry says this is higher than the 12.9 percent rise that economists had forecast (預測、預計). Electronics exports increased by 20.8-per cent, driven by a 20.5-per cent jump in semiconductor shipments. ---- US Cali wildfires Deadly wildfires in Northern California are still growing. The AP's Ed Donahue reports. < [CLIP] Slug: > ---- UN Myanmar Rohingya The United Nations human rights office says attacks against Rohingya Muslims in Myanmar are meant to make them afraid, and stop them from ever going back to their homes. Government forces and Buddhist mobs (暴民) have been attacking Rohingya in northern Rakhine state. More than half a million Rohingya have fled (逃離) to Bangladesh. Myanmar's military says the attacks are "clearance operations" which are necessary because Muslim militants attacked police posts on August 25th.
