I'm ______ and it's time for Easy EZ News on ICRT. ---- T*Taiex update The Tai-Ex opened up 3-points this morning from Tuesday's close, at 10,473 on turnover of 2.3-billion N-T. ---- T*Taiwan Fisheries to adopt ILO standards The Fisheries Agency says it will keep trying to make work conditions (環境) better for migrant fishermen working on Taiwan ships. The agency's Ted Tsai says even though Taiwan is not a member of the International Labour Organization, it will use the ILO's Work in Fishing Convention. These standards will start being applied (被應用) in November. The convention requires 10 hours of rest in any 24-hour period for fishery workers at sea. It says these workers should be at least 16 years old, and also has requirements for food and time off to go home. ---- T*MAC investigating China-based Taiwan woman The Mainland Affairs Council says it is investigating if a China-based Taiwan woman broke Taiwan laws. Lu Li-an is president of the Shanghai Taiwan COmpatriots Friendship Association. She was chosen to attend the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China later this month. The MAC says it will check if Lu has household registration in China, and if she has violated (違反) the Act Governing Relations between the People of the Taiwan Area and the Mainland Area. The Act says Taiwan citizens are not allowed to have household registration in China or have a Chinese passport. Lu was born in Kaohsiung in 1968. ---- T*Canada revokes Taiwan steel tariffs, lowers duties And .... Canada has taken back anti-dumping tariffs (關稅) on products from two Taiwan steel companies, and lowered duties on Taiwan steel exporters. Canada said Taiwan companies that made carbon steel welded pipes were selling the pipes at unfairly low prices. But the World Trade Organization ruled in favor of Taiwan. The Ministry of Economic Affairs says tariffs against Chong Hong Steel and Shin Yang Steel will be removed. Duties against other steel companies will lowered from 54.2-percent to 29.6-percent. ---- US Vegas shooter The girlfriend of the Las Vegas shooter says she has no idea why he did what he did. Frances Read reports from Los Angeles. < [CLIP] Slug: > ---- Russia Puting presidency Russian President Vladimir Putin says he will decide later this year if he will run for president again. Putin has an over 80-percent approval rating. But he says he hasn't decided if he will run for another six-year term in March. Opposition leader Alexei Navalny has said he will run for president.
