I'm ______ and it's time for Easy EZ News on ICRT. ---- T*Taiex update The Tai-Ex opened up 14-points this morning from Saturday's close, at 10,425 on turnover of 1.7-billion N-T. ---- T*Eco-mobility Fest in Gaoxiong The Eco-Mobility World Festival began Sunday in Gaoxiong's Ha-Ma-Xing District. Officials say representatives from 58 cities and 700 local experts went to a conference about eco-friendly transportation. Premier William Lai and Gaoxiong Mayor Chen Chu also went to the forum (論壇). They talked about their experiences and ideas on green transportation. Ha-Ma-Xing is now a green transportation zone for the month-long festival. All fossil fuel vehicles have been banned (禁止) from the area. ---- T*Police crackdown on sex crime fugitives Taipei police say they've arrested 31 rapists on the run between March and May. The National Police Agency gave extra resources and efforts from March 4th to May 31st to catch known sex offenders. The campaign comes after the rape and murder of a 24-year-old model in Taipei's Nangang District March 1st. Officials say even though the campaign has ended, police will continue the fight against sexual assaults (攻擊). ---- T*Temps set Oct. record And .... Temperatures yesterday set a new record high for the month of October. The Central Weather Bureau says Taipei weather stations recorded (記錄) 36.8 degrees at 12:23PM. That was the highest since records began in 1896. The city's last October high was recorded on October 7-th, 1938 - when temperatures hit 36.1-degrees. ---- Spain Catalonia clashes Catalonia's government has announced that the "yes" side won, in a region-wide vote on whether Catalonia should become independent from Spain. Catalan officials say 2.26 million Catalans voted, and 90-percent chose "yes" for independence. Catalonia's president says he will declare independence. Spain's government says the vote was illegal and against the constitution. The government sent hundreds of police with batons and rubber bullets to stop the voting. Reports say 844 civilians were hurt, and videos show police attacking peaceful protesters and unarmed (未武裝) civilians (老百姓). ---- Trump Puerto Rico U-S President Donald Trump is hitting back at officials who say the government did not help Puerto Rico. AP correspondent Ben Thomas reports. < [CLIP] Slug: > ---- Malaysia NKorea brother Two women who are accused of killing the half brother of North Korea's leader are about to go on trial in Malaysia. Eight months ago, the two allegedly (據稱) put VX nerve agent on Kim Jong Nam's face at an airport in Kuala Lumpur. Kim died within about 20 minutes.
