I'm ______ and it's time for Easy EZ News on ICRT. ---- T*Taiex update The Tai-Ex opened down 24-points this morning from yesterday's close, at 10,380 on turnover of 1.5-billion N-T. ---- T*Lawmakers pass infrastructure bill The forward-looking infrastructure development plan bill was passed yesterday. Ruling and opposition lawmakers agreed to cut investment of the bill by half $420-billion NT. The time for the plan was also shortened to four years. The original (原本、原始) plan had a budget of $840-billion NT over eight years. The legislature will now give the spending budget a second review starting next Wednesday until July 28th. ---- T*Civic groups on imprisoned advocate Civic groups say they have plans to support human rights advocate Lee Ming-che. Lee is currently imprisoned in China on charges of "subversion (顛覆、推翻) of state power". The European Parliament will vote on a resolution to support both Lee and Nobel Peace Prize laureate Liu Xiao-bo later today. The Taiwan Association for Human Rights says if that resolution is passed, the European Parliament's executive branch could take further action. Groups supporting Lee say they will hold a press conference over the next few days after the vote. ---- T*Airport MRT cut off by accident And ... An accident cut off power to the airport MRT this morning. A car drove into the power supply unit used by the line. Services were stopped for a short time between the airport, the Chang Geng Memorial Hospital, and Tai-Shan stations. The line was up and running again by 7:20am. Police are questioning (審問) the driver. ---- US on Nkorean missiles The US says it will use military force if necessary to respond to North Korea's latest missile test. Nick Harper reports from the UN in New York. < [CLIP] Slug: > ---- Venezuela congress attacked in Venezuela..... Pro-government militias (民兵)forced their way into congress yesterday, attacking opposition lawmakers. Four lawmakers were hurt. Media reports say the police guarding Congress stood by while the militias with sticks and pipes broke in. The government says it will look into the case. Lawmakers still managed to approve a symbolic referendum on July 16th. The vote will be about President Nicolas Maduro's plans to draft a new political charter. ---- Volvo to build only electric and hybrid and turning briefly to business news.... Volvo says it plans to build only electric and hybrid (混合動力) vehicles starting in 2019. Volvo is the first major automaker to stop using traditional engines.
