The market climbed back up Monday after Wall Street rose at the end of last week. The electronics sector helped push up the market. Non-tech stocks were mixed (不一樣、有好有壞), and the financial sector ended down. ---- E*KMT Source Warns Han's win Could Shakeup Party A source in the KMT party says Han Kuo-yu winning the presidential primary will create major changes in the party. The unamed source says Han emerging as a leader in the party will break up the traditional and complex (複雜) power structure in the KMT. It will also change the way the party prepares its strategy (戰略) for a presidential campaign. The source says Han's win will also affect the KMT's succession plans. It decreases the space left for the party's traditional leaders, which includes party Chairman Wu Den-yih. ---- E*US Lawmaker Supports Taiwan Arms Sales in Response to China Threat U-S Representative Michael McCaul says the House Foreign Affairs Committee approved a 2-billion dollar arms sales to Taiwan, as a response to increased Chinese aggression. Speaking to Fox News, the Texas Congressman said "green-lighting the arms sale sends a very strong message to China." McCaul was one of the U-S lawmakers to meet with President Tsai Ing-wen on Friday during her two-day stopover (中途停留)in New York on the way to visit four of Taiwan's Caribbean allies. ---- E*US Trump Continues Attacks on Congresswomen US President Donald Trump is continuing his attacks on four first term Democratic congresswomen. The attacks are widely (廣泛地) seen as (被視為) racist. US Correspondent Rachel Silverman has more. < [CLIP] Slug: > ---- E*Mexico Battles Nature Reserve Fire Firefighters are still trying to put out a blaze in a Mexican nature reserve. Officials say the fire in the Sian Ka'an nature reserve on the Yucatan Peninsula is just 30-percent under control. It has spread to more than 2500-hectares. More than 50 firefighters and a water-dropping Air Force helicopter are working to stop the flames. Officials say drought and intense heat are making the fire worse. The fire is about 30 kilometers south of the popular beach town Tulum. The Sian Ka'an reserve on Mexico's Caribbean coast is a UNESCO World Heritage site (聯合國教科文組織世界遺產) and an important tourist destination. ---- E*India Examines Moon Mission Snag India's space organization says it is looking into the technical problem that caused Monday's launch to be cancelled. The Chandrayaan-2 mission was called off less than an hour before liftoff by teh Indian Space Research Organization. It says there was a "technical snag" found in the 640-ton, 14-story rocket launcher. The ISRO says it should be able to choose a new launch date within a few days. Chandra-yaan, is designed to make a soft landing on the lunar south pole. It will then send a rover to explore water deposits (沉積).
