The call for volunteers by Guo Yao-ren, the director of the Department of Surgery at the Kaohsiung Medical University Hospital, comes after the Ministry of Health gave its approval for Guo to carry out such an operation. According to Guo, he has been looking for volunteers with facial disfigurement (顏面畸形) to do a transplant since last November. Guo carried out Taiwan's first single arm transplant in 2014, has been practicing face transplants on animals and corpses since 2008 to master the techniques needed. Four unions argue that such an exit could have a catastrophic impact (毀滅性影響) on the nation's food and farming sector. They fear the British government could unilaterally lower tariffs to control food price inflation, which would ``result in the U.K. market being open to imports of food produced to standards lower than that produced by U.K. farmers.'' ---- E*SKorea wants sanction exemptions to restart NKorea projects South Korea's President Moon Jae-in has suggested he'll push for sanction exemptions (免於制裁的項目) to restart stalled economic cooperation projects with North Korea. North Korean leader Kim Jong Un said in a New Year's Day address that he's ready to resume South Korean tours to a North Korean mountain and a jointly run factory complex in the North. Moon's comment Thursday may be a symbolic response to Kim's overture (提案,提議).
