Section break ---- News Intro I'm ... w/ the top of the hour news ..... ---- T*Taiex update The Tai-Ex opened down 35-points this morning from yesterday's close, at 10,997 on turnover of 2-billion N-T. ---- T*President Tsai to visit Paraguay Belize President Tsai Ing-wen will visit Paraguay and Belize next month. Officials say Tsai will travel to the two diplomatic allies from August 12th to 20th. The president will transit in the United States and will stopover (中途停留) in Los Angeles on first leg and in Houston on the return journey. Tsai will go to the inauguration of President-elect Mario Abdo Benitez on August 15 during her trip to Paraguay. She will then travel to Belize on August 16 for a three-day visit, and she will meet Governor-General Colville Young and Prime Minister Oliver Barrow. It will Tsai's fourth overseas trip since she took office in 2016. ---- T*Penghua Magong Airport to be renamed The Civil Aeronautics Administration says Penghu's Magong Airport will be renamed (改名) the Penghu Airport next week. The renaming (改名) ceremony will take place on August 9. The government says this is following trends around the world, where airports are being named after the places where they are located. ---- T*NTL launching online for visually impaired And .... The National Taiwan Library has launched a special online service for the visually impaired. The Visual Impairment Information System has a catalogue, resources for browsing (瀏覽、翻閱) and downloading, a personal interface, and links to other resources. The National Library of Public Information, the Taipei Public Library and the Kaohsiung Public Library are working together to offer this service. ---- France harrassment video Video of a woman being hit by a man who harassed her is going viral (迅速竄紅、像病毒擴散) in France. Elena Casas reports from Paris. < [CLIP] Slug: > ---- Eritrea Somalia restore ties Eritrea and Somalia are reestablishing diplomatic ties, after a 15 year break. This comes after Somalia's president ended a three-day visit to Eritrea. Somalia's president also called for the lifting of U.N. sanctions (制裁) on Eritrea over its alleged support of the Somalia-based al-Shabab extremist group. Eritrea has long denied this.
