Section break ---- News Intro I'm ... w/ the top of the hour news ..... ---- T*Taiex update The Tai-Ex opened down 50-points this morning from yesterday's close, at 10,837 on turnover of 1.9-billion N-T. ---- T*Taiwan student in US built handgun US police say Taiwanese student Sun An-zuo built a 9-millimeter handgun himself from parts he bought online. Police say Sun also had over 1-thousand-600 rounds of ammunition (彈藥), including AR-15 and AK-47 ammo. Investigators are now checking if other people were involved. They believe Sun had planned to go on a shooting spree (無節制的狂熱行為) at his school. Sun has been charged with making terroristic threats and is in custody. His parents are now in the U-S. ---- T*Six injured after fight in Gaoxiong restaurant Police in Gaoxiong say six people were hurt after a fight in a restaurant. Seven people who may be members of local gangs are being held by police. Officials say they started fighting after a disagreement between two tables of people. Police say none of the injuries were serious. Several of the people are facing charges of violating (違反) the Social Order Maintenance Act. ---- T*Taiwan dramas picked up for Netflix And .... Several Taiwan-made television drama series have made it onto Netflix. And the Public Television Service says the shows will allow the world to see Taiwan's culture and abilities (能力). The showes include the historical drama series "A Touch of Green," directed and produced by Cao Rui-yuan. "A Touch of Green" won six awards at the 2016 Golden Bell Awards including Best TV Series, Best Directing and Best Actor. Other Taiwanese shows on Netflix are two seasons of the hospital drama "Wake Up" and two seasons of the mini-series "Days We Stared at the Sun." ---- Wall St. major fall Wall Street took a heavy fall on Monday over fears of a trade (貿易) war between the US and China. Nick Harper reports from New York. < [CLIP] Slug: > ---- Bolivia earthquake A powerful 6.8-magnitude earthquake struck Bolivia on Monday. But the quake center was so deep there were no reports of damage or injuries. The U.S. Geological Survey said the quake struck at 10:40 a.m. local time and it was centered 127 kilometers southeast of Tarija, Bolivia. The epicenter was 557 kilometers below the surface (表面).
