I'm ______ and it's time for Easy EZ News on ICRT. ---- T*Taiex update The Tai-Ex opened up 44-points this morning from Friday's close, at 10,908 on turnover of 3.7-billion N-T. ---- T*Gov to monitor China term effects The government says it is closely watching the effects of China cancelling the term limits for its president. China's National People's Congress took away the two-term limit on Sunday. Taiwan's Mainland Affairs Council says China is an important part of the international community, and has a responsibility to keep peace in the region. The council hopes China can follow global trends (全球趨勢) to promote freedom, democracy, and law, to make its people's lives better. ---- T*Gov on US Japan regional strategy Deputy Foreign Minister Francois Wu says Taiwan is ready to work with the US and Japan on its plan for the Indo-Pacific region. Wu says China's military activities and North Korea's nuclear weapons program is destabilizing the region. He says the government is happy to see that the US and Japan are promoting the new "Free and Open Indo-Pacific" strategy (戰略、政策) that is based on democratic values. ---- T*Okamoto leading in Tour de Taiwan And .... Japan's Hayato Okamoto is in the lead, as the Tour de Taiwan starts its second leg (階段) in Taoyuan today. Today's 119-kilometer route goes from Taoyuan City Hall to Jiao-Ban-Shan Park. Okamoto won the first stage of the tour in Taipei yesterday. He is the leading Asian rider, and the first in individual and points categories. There are almost 200 professional cyclists from 19 local and foreign teams competing this year. ---- France India bilateral talks French President Emmanuel Macron is on a four-day official visit to India. Our India correspondent Neha Poonia reports. < [CLIP] Slug: > ---- Iran Turkey plane crash A Turkish private jet flying from the United Arab Emirates to Istanbul crashed in Iran. Reports say all 11 people on board were killed, when the plane crashed in heavy rain in the Zagros Mountains. Local villagers reportedly (據說) found the crashed plane, and found the remains of the passengers. ---- Tunisia women's march Tunisian women ar marching to demand equal inheritance (遺產) rights. They marched to parliament in Tunis, and want the government to set up a law for equal inheritance rights for daughters and sons.
